MAR Program will also provide training to community people. It will be delivered through the Learning Center promoting alternative livelihoods, looking forward to reduce exploitation of spawning aggregation sites and to diminish dependence upon fragile reef resources.

Many fishermen have changed their main activities by developing other income sources without jeopardizing the ecological reef integrity.

Former fishermen have developed alternative livelihoods after being trained in fields like marine patrolling, sport fishing tourism guiding, diving, and kayak tours.

Thus contributing to local economy diversification as well as assuring long term reef preservation, while keeping up deep links between local people and the sea and diminishing impact over natural resources.
