The Nature Conservancy mission is

The Mesoamerican Reef Program (MAR) Mission is

"Promote the consolidation of a protected area network to promote resiliency in the Mesoamerican Reef Region, matching ecological systems and human needs while facing climate change."

The Mesoamerican Reef Program is looking forward to work as a leader in The Nature Conservancy integrated work, catalyzing synergies to promote marine conservation and management in the area. To fulfill this mission the program aims to identify a network of resilient protected areas. At the same time the program has the objective to support the TNC operative units, partners and local communities offering the required tools and capacities.
